The Early Years Foundation Stage
These are the seven areas of learning which children will have access to activities and a learning timetable, catered for their stage of ability and development. Each area is carefully planned around each individual child’s interests. These will include things such as exploring skills, life skills, pencil control, phonics, reading, writing and so much more. More information is supplied in our parents’ packs upon enrolment.

Most of the time, your child will be learning all seven areas of learning together, in a fairly jumbled kind of way. So if they spend lots of time in the sand area, for example, there’s no need for concern! They may well be covering all kinds of important learning, such as:
working with different materials
finding out about shape, quantity and volume
creating imaginative worlds
feeling different textures
and even developing motor skills and strength for writing!
Our planning for our children is always planned for each individual child.
Every child is unique and every child will develop different to another.
We are using Tapestry to provide a journal.
We use Tapestry at both our settings. This is used to document your child’s day and help you understand what we have observed and how we connect this to our planning and implementation of our learning journey. You are provided with your own username and login and this be accessed from any computer or you can download it onto any iOS or android device and login on the go!!! You can see videos of your child’s day, pictures of their adventures and even leave us a reply or what you think!!! We love it!
